Who We Are
We are Xavier and Adri and we're a pretty rad couple living in sunny Miami, FL. We met at the age of 13 (as we were neighbors) and somehow, somewhere along the way, life led us to where we are now. We enjoy traveling and finding new, fun places where we can eat and have a good time. We spend a lot of our time working together on Wax by Lax and throughout time, we have worked tirelessly in an effort to create our version of a perfect candle. You can often find us thinking up new ideas and experimenting in our kitchen. We like to have fun. We like to be innovative. We like to live a life we enjoy. We are happy to say that we truly enjoy what we do.
HOW WAX BY LAX WAS BORN
Wax by Lax was initially born from a tragedy that turned into a product of love and hope. After the passing of our beautiful son, Liam, we found ourselves in the constant struggle of overcoming this unbearable tragedy and in an effort to distract ourselves from our pain, we decided to alleviate our angst by making candles. Although candle making began as just a hobby, it quickly grew into love and was able to replace that feeling of dismay into that of hope and happiness. We labored tirelessly in an effort to become great artisans in our craft, unwilling to stop until we had achieve the perfect candle. After much trial and error and unwavering resolve, the product we had long been trying to achieve was finally procured, a product that was born from our strong bond and love, literally a product of love. We wanted to create something that would bring happiness to others. And that, in short, was how Wax by Lax was born. In the end, this was about overcoming overwhelming despair and forging a path to happiness. Having achieved that, we honored our son by making his the first of three names the business was named after... Wax by Liam, Adri, Xavier.
What We Believe In
We believe in the beauty of simplicity; simplicity that is achieved by creating something beautiful by hand. We believe that products that come into your home shouldn't be harmful to you. Instead, they should be harmless. They should be comforting. They should smell delicious. They should be a product of dedicated work. And through Wax by Lax, we are able to provide a candle that is all of these things and that makes us proud.
Our Dream
Upon the birth of Wax by Lax, our dream was quite simple. Our goal was simply to find happiness in something that we could do together, as a couple, and that would bring smiles to the faces of our customers. As Wax by Lax evolved, our dream has remained the same.
